Editorial Ageing The journal was well received as judged by the number of the comments and the number of papers we received from all over the world. The editorial board and the production team would like to thank all who send their support and congratulation. The
second issues has an interesting mix of papers from different part of
the world which reveals the importance of the aging issues. Dr Rikkert
,and Dekkers from the Netherlands in their paper discussed the dilemma's
A research paper from Al Ain University in Collaboration with Australia report on study determine if blood RNA concentrations are altered in people with Alzheimer disease [AD] or vascular dementia [VaD]. The authors studied 31 people aged 60+ years. They concluded that as total blood RNA concentrations were lower in those with AD or VAD in this population based sample, further studies may be needed to ascertain the significance of this preliminary finding. The study by Dr Nourmohammadi I, et al explore the role of serum zinc and copper concentartion in age related cataract. The authors conclude that in spite of the relatively small sample population, the findings suggest some thought-provoking questions, considering that there has been a good amount of controversy regarding the status of these trace elements and their possible role in senile cataractogenesis suggesting the need for further studies.
A study on home health care is reported from Saudia Arabia by Jastaniah N et al. In this study the authors showed that Home health care at King Khaled National Guard in Jeddah is covering different age groups with a variety of diagnosis. The most common one was CVA. Some patients have more than one diagnosis, and have some complex medical and social condition, that needed more than one service. The hospital readmission's, clinic visits, and emergency visits were lower in HHC patients than non-HHC however this difference was not statistically significant.
