CURRICULUM VITAE
Fusun Toraman


Fusun Toraman was born in Ankara/Turkey February 13, 1958. She is married and has one child. She graduated from the University of Aegean, Medical School, Izmir, Turkey in 1981 and the Ankara Rehabilitation Center, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Ankara, Turkey. She became specialist of physical medicine and rehabilitation in 1986. She studied in some of the statement hospitals in Ordu, Denizli and Antalya as a physiatrist between 1986-1994. In 1994, she began to study in Pamukkale University, Medical School, Denizli as an assistant professor. She became an Associated Professor and came to Antalya in 1995 and began to work in Akdeniz University School of Physical Education and Sports. She is dean assistant in the School and also director of Sport Sciences and Research Center.

She is member of International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Turkish Medical Association, Turkish Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Turkish Rheumatism Research and Defence and Turkish Sport Medicine Association.

She offers the following courses in the School: Women and sports, sports massage, cryotherapy and taping, athlete's health (licence degree); Diseases and exercises, exercise programs for special conditions, sports and exercise in cardiovascular diseases I. II, rehabilitation in sport injuries (master degree); recondition training, sports in rehabilitation, biomechanic in preventative methods (doctoral degree). Her primary responsibilities in the School are to plan the annual scientific activities, to organize Certification Program of Massage Education, and to design and adapt the degree of master and doctoral programs.

Dr. Füsun Toraman has several published papers on issues concerning physical medicine and rehabilitation, sport medicine, and gerontology.
